Hot Cross Bun Pudding

Ahhh, Easter.

The one time of the year where you can eat chocolate guilt free (other than New Years Day, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, the Queen's Birthday, Labor Day, Bank Holiday, Melbourne Cup, your own Birthday, office birthdays, Halloween and Christmas).

Well, the point is, sometimes it's nice to have something other than chocolate at Easter.

Presenting our latest recipe: Hot Cross Bun Pudding

• Butter

• Hot Cross Buns I Pack of six

• Egg Yolks I Six

• Caster Sugar | ¼ Cup

• Vanilla Extract | 1 Teaspoon

• Milk | 2 Cups

• Cream | 300mL

• Icing Sugar | Sifted on top


STEP 1 Preheat oven to 180OC. Slice the buns in half and butter each half.

STEP 2 Separate egg yolks. Wisk yolks with sugar and vanilla until pale. Wisk in milk and cream. Pour over the buns and set aside for 15 minutes.

STEP 3 Place dish in a roasting pan and pour boiling water around the dish so it comes half way up the dish. Place in Oven and bake for 35 minutes.

STEP 4 Sprinkle with icing sugar and serve.
