Fun Size Vegemite Scrolls Recipe

Get your Australia Day long weekend off to a bloody great start with our Fun Size Vegemite Scroll recipe. 

Different to the store bough variety, these have a much more "Aussie Damper" texture to them. 

P.S: For a real flavour boost, add a smearing of butter to the top 🤤


• Self-Raising Flour I 2 Cups + Extra For Dusting
• Butter | 80g | Chilled & Chopped
• Caster Sugar | 2 tsp
• Milk | 2/3 Cup
• Vegemite | 2 tbsp
• Cheddar Cheese | 1 Cup | Grated 


STEP 1 | Pre heat oven 220C (200C fan forced). Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.

STEP 2Process flour, butter and sugar in a food processor until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Transfer to a bowl. Make a well. Add milk. Season with salt and pepper. Stir with a butter knife to form a sticky dough. Turn out onto a well-floured surface. Knead gently. Using a floured rolling pin, roll out to form a 20cm x 40cm rectangle.

STEP 3Spread dough with Vegemite, leaving a 1cm border. Sprinkle with cheese. Roll up dough from 1 long edge to enclose filling. Cut into 12 equal slices. Place, cut-side up, onto lined baking tray.

STEP 4Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden and just firm to the touch. allow to cool for 5 minutes. Serve warm with a smearing of butter on top.
